Up and Running at Victoria Place

Our story began in June 1992, when husband and wife team, Gillian and Dennis McFarlane set up their first little shop in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate.  Opening the doors on that very first day exuded an overwhelming mix of anticipation, excitement and sheer delight of realising this dream. The community became customers and customers became friends, with Gillian's infectious love and enthusiasm for running being shared with anyone.  Our gait analysis started from day one, where Gill would ask you to run up and down outside the shop, pioneering in the service all runners look for today.  While the invention of treadmill gait analysis modernised this service, the same sentiment of personable customer service was inaugurated from day one.  Up and running became a great hub for runners and all things running in Harrogate, across the county and beyond.  We are proud to say this is still true to this day.
